Didn't I see up somewhere that someone had built a device that plugs into the wall socket and allows you to turn the bike over without running the battery down?

That invention was made by Ulrich (Rickmeister to us) Grabau. Send him a PM and I am sure he can give you a good description how to make one. Worked a treat for my compression tests.
