Hi all - I took a spin last night and noticed a sound I'm pretty sure is coming up from the front of the engine. At 2700-3700rpm like a drilling or tapping sound, almost like a metalic woodpecker (if that makes any kind of sence).
It's most noticeable under slow acceleration or load and I cannot get it with the bike stationary.
I inspected the cam chain recently and found everything to be in reasonable good condition and within all wear limits.
Since doing that I have felt that the timing is off a bit in that rev range too but she's running sweet at 5k on the tacho and no evidence of the noise.
Any ideas?
