Just changed my fuel filter and the old one was on backwards. Anyone have an indepth understand of what goes on inside a filter and wahat the adverse effects are if fitted the wrong way?

It's nearly a one-way valve, in a sense. Blow air or liquid through it from both ends and see the result for yourself. It was just not filtering como Dios manda (as intended).

No massive increase in performance to be expected then

Dunno 'bout that, my ignition leads are blue. S'posed to be more stealthy. Apparently the cops can't see me flashin' past on my red bike.
