I bought a K100 last week, and before riding it, I decided to give it a good look over, and check the fluids etc.
Under the right side cover, I found a black wire with a round terminal attached, just floating around.
Following the cable across in front of the bottom of battery, it is connected to an earth point.
It does not prevent the bike from starting, but it obviously should go somewhere.
Any idea where I should be attaching it too?
I tried attaching a photo, but gave up after "hosting" the pickie a few times, but just in case it worked, this is the link.

Where would this cable go? Dscn0718

Cheers
Ian

It's an additional earthing strap. Connect it to the negative terminal of the battery, being sure it is actually earthed at the other end before you do.

The ground or earth strap on early K bikes from the factory is barely enough, but somehow they got away with it. I've added a much larger gauge strap from battery negative to the 6mm mount point just behind the coils on the gearbox.

Thanks Guest in the house for the fast response.
The guy I bought the bike from fitted a new battery, and probably missed that connection.
I should have it reconnected soon.
Cheers
