16 August, 1888 - 19 May, 1935. He sadly bit it on a Brough Superior SS100. He reportedly had owned eight of them.

I've been laid up for eleven days now with a cold/virus, not the Big Ceauxvid, and have watched a lot of old films meantime.

(sniff! Twisted Evil ) I used to live about seven miles from Wareham, on Poole Quay. Wuz there for fourteen years but never visted Clouds Hill. Yon bike he's on (RK 4907) was named 'George V'. The interesting thing about Broughs is that they were factory bitsas - George Brough bought in all the 'best parts' from other manufacturers and assembled them into 'a superior motorcycle' tested and guaranteed to hit the magic ton. On those roads???? Jeez!

In the film this arvo, all 3 hours 47 minutes, I got a clear shot of the JAP insignia on the engine. I wonder what is was they tossed into the trees in the accident shot, opening scenes? Back in 1962 when it was filmed it might well have been a real rough Brough.

There wasn't much passing as functioning brakes, or suspension for that matter, in those earlier daze.

Another bit of Trivia for Fans of Larry and what a lucky Welsh man. I remember seeing this when it was first broadcast.
