Hi All,
I'm not finding this in the three manuals I have or on the forum. Maybe the answer is just snug or tight enough so that it doesn't leak but I thought I'd ask before I put back together. I probably have a standard torque chart around for an 8mm.
Is there a proper torque for the outside tire valve stem nut?
Also, MAX mentions the use a washer with the nut, the bike I'm working on I don't believe has ever has this washer, this is recommended is it? I'm sure I have an 8mm washer in my junk.
I should also ask... I should grease this oring correct? Any suggestions, belray waterproof or whatever I have around?
MAX BMW:
Steel. The o-ring goes on the “inside” of the tire/rim and the nut goes on the “outside” of the tire. The 8mm tire valve should be used with a 8mm washer 07 11 9 931 697, which is sold separately. The 697 washer interchanges with similar washers- 07119904826, 07119931660, 07119904919. The washer, nut, and dust cap are all visible when the wheel is on the bike. We believe the o-ring can leak if you over tighten the nut.
Thanks,
Chris

The nut I'm talking about is below.
