Hi,
I have been helping a local guy get his '85 K100 working reliably. The first time I saw the bike, I noticed that the wheels he had on it were very unusual. I'd never seen wheels like these before but I once saw a photo of cast aluminum rims made by a German company in the 90's which looked similar but were separate pieces (rim, spokes and hub were bolted together) I managed to get a few snaps of the rear wheel the last time I was there.
It's got "PVM MT" cast into one of the spokes. The rim is cast aluminum and relatively heavy compared to my BMW three spoke wheels. The spokes are aerodynamically shaped and as you can see bent to take into consideration the offset. Interesting. Anyone know the history of the manufacturer of these wheels?
