Great idea on the hose replacement. Too bad I already have one ordered.
But the Spal fan seems like a good solution to that problem. I just ordered it!
Between the Z hose and a new temp sensor, I have my fingers crossed it solves my running problem. After that it will be just a matter of synching and piecing the fairing back together in time for spring!

Got the new Z hose, temp sensor, Spal fan and a new air filter in today. Bike started right up so I was hopeful. It ran well until it started warming up and then started running like crap and stalling. There's a big hestitation when I hit the throttle and seems to be a flat spot at about a 1/4 turn. And I'm back to having to unplug the fuel pump to get it started. WTF! (Can I say that here?) As someone here suggested, I hit the starter button while it was running and it perked right up which tells me its running lean. I even blocked the intake on the air box and it didn't make a difference in how it ran. I used an unlit propane torch around all boots, connections and plenum and didnt get and significant difference in how it ran but when I spritzed the boots above the throttle bodies, particularly #3 cylinder, it revved up. So I guess my next move is to replace intake boots eh. I'm getting so discouraged with this beast I'm not sure even that will fix things.
Maybe I can make my money back by partsing this thing out....

The rubbers are split under the oetiker clamps - they quite often break at the that point because of the pressure of the clamps. IIRC the clamps are 5mm wide (??) - replace them with a similar sized worm drives/jubliee clamps. IMO it's not worth you buying the tool to pinch oetikers just for one bike. Be very careful you don't foul the throttle quadrant with the worm drives.

Yes; those perishable rubber parts are bloody expensive for what they are, but it's a small market for them. At this point you are soooo close to finishing and yes; we've pretty much ALL been there.

Mine always crack in the middle.

I like worm drive clamps because you don't need a special clamping tool. It's also a cleaner look if you put the screw part in the back.

Re Duck's Post 54: The oetiker clamps are 7mm wide and 2 different diameter sizes are required. For fastening the clamps you do not need an expensive pair of specialist oetiker pinch pliers. Buy a pair of CV boot clamp pliers and file down the jaws if they are too sharp - they work perfectly and have other uses.
Most  drive/jubilee clamps are too wide. Suzuki have the correct 7mm wide jubilee clamps.
