Hi folks,
I just picked up my first BMW bike an 85 K100 that I hope remains a great deal.  The PO did a great job on a restoration with a swap to a more naked look.  He rode it for a year and a half before it sputtered, died, and won't restart.  I'm trying to find the best diagnostics pages on here before I ask all of the obvious questions.
I've built multiple bikes, was an import mechanic in my twenties specializing in electrical diagnostics, and am in the engineering side of corporate now.
Any links to favorite diagnostic flowcharts are appreciated.
Thanks for having me,
Tim

Your issue could be as simple as the electrical plug connector to the gas tank adn the in tank fuel pump, a very common issue on early Ks. So too is the electrical plug connector under the seat [injection control unit] and under the headstock [ignition control unit].

Isolate if its a fuel or spark issue early on.

So I checked for spark with an induction timing light on a plug wire and spark is present. While cranking I can hear the fuel pump for a couple seconds and see the splash in the tank from the return lines. I'm trying to slip in and out of the garage between Skype meetings😁

sounds like the injectors have gummed up somewhat

which i have noticed fairly often

perhaps remove them and soak the pintle area  in injector cleaner ?

welcome aboard
