Hi everyone. I am a proud new co-owner of a 1990 K75 down in Milan, Italy: many past owners, many kilometres, disputable past maintenance, but it still rides with us!
As first trip with the newcomer, I am planning a 4 weeks honeymoon riding the south of Italy and Sardinia, and trying to get the bike, myself and my wife (the hardest one) ready for it.
General mechanical controls apparently passed: it remains an annoying tendency of going right (it is not clear to me if it depends on the engine or on the consequence of an old incidents, maybe both), a symmetrical laziness leaning to the left, and a bit of oil smell during first kilometres, but apart from this it works great.
Now I am struggling to find all the keys: yes, old owner (who is also my current co-owner) gave me a dozen of different keys that (obviously) do not work with anything on the bike. So far I found 2 ignition keys, 3/4 tank keys (apparently identical but not working with the ignition...), 1 key of the upper case, 1 key of the left pannier and NO KEYS AT ALL OF THE RIGHT ONE!
Therefore, since no locksmith in Milan has any blank key for this model, I pray anyone here having hold Krauser side bags, flat lock ones, if they have a 049 key forgot somewhere or knows where to find it.
Any suggestion to set the bike to pack everything a fresh bride can consider "indispensable" will be highly appreciated.
