Background: Restoring a '90 K75C before turning it into a cafe racer. I took it apart 8 years ago and had the frame powder coated. Lost interest in the project for sad reasons and now during COVID have restarted project. Now am at point of putting the seat back on. The seat pivots on the right side and sets into the locking mechanism on the left. I have the locking mechanism from the original bike but for various reasons have chosen to use the lock off a parts bike. So I have the tumbler for a key which works for everything else and the lock mechanism mounting from the original bike and am trying to merge.

Has anyone else ever tried to open up one of these locking mechanisms? Here are two links to photos:

My question is. There are what appear to be 4 covered holes and am wondering if drilling into them
will allow the device to be opened so that I can replace the tumbler.
thanks
