Guys,  If you haven't already shown your expression of interest (EOI) in this event, you need to do so for this event to happen.  It would be great to see a place full of K bikes from all over Australia and "chewing the fat" with like minded riders.  This could be as big as K-Fest in the UK.  Follow the link above.

No venue has been mentioned that i'm aware of.  I suppose they would be gauging the amount of interest at this stage and from where the interest is coming from.
I made a suggestion of Tamworth as it is central to the east coast of Australia and can cope with a big influx of people.

The only club that I know of that is planing anything was the ACT club which was running an EOI which is in the first post

Maybe Garry  might know something  through his connection within the QLD Club  ???

I've registered and so has the SSD(Paul) . Tamworth would be a good central location.

No, there has been nothing mentioned. Your original post at the top was the first I saw referring to the anniversary.  So if the ACT BM Club were interested in organising something, I thought I would follow the link to express my interest and put up a post here to bump it up to the top again so others that missed your original post could do the same. It would be great to see a place full of K Bikes from all over Australia.  The Qld. BMW Club would be more than happy to promote it to Qld. members.

Hello All

If you registered  on the link  this would be to give the  ACT BMW club  and idea of numbers

I don't think they would be looking at Tamworth as an area to hold the event

I could be wrong

Crikey... I might even have a vague chance of having the sidecar on the road by then. If so, I'll certainly tag along.
Surely we could come up with somewhere more interesting than Tamworth? Razz

Yep I’m in but first I’ll need to find a tidy RS for sale…. Been looking for months but they’re becoming rarer than rocking horse sh*t. Anyone know of one for sale in NSW?

May 2023 is far enough away that the OZ borders will hopefully be open to free travel again. I've attempted to register on the site and will make the effort to be there. I'll be a pensioner by then, with luck and continuing good health.

I’ve registered with the ACT Club as well since I was one of the Krew who attended the 30th Anniversary bash at Tottenham organised by BMWTCNSW. The forum Krew had a good day there with Smithy winning  best RS snd best K bike overall and myself picking up the trophy for best Touring K (for my now departed K1100LT).

Our member Ed (who has been missing for a while) purchased the rally banner in the charity auction and the banner then started a life of its own travelling the world via K100 Forum members.

We should track it down to take to this 40th event if it comes to fruition.

Cheers

Hello All
Just been given another rumour  about the 40th Anniversary in Australia

Apparently BMW Motorcycle Clubs Australia are planning an event on the Gold Coast sometime in June 2022
stickler is that you will need to be a member of one of the associated  BM clubs to register to attend

Garry  is there anyway you cant find out more about this through the BM Club QLD  ?

It's not for the K Bikes, their anniversary is not until 2023.  It's just the BMW Clubs Australia National Rally.

The National Motorrad Rally is mostly a social event, the main attraction that it's a get together where you get to meet friends in the BMW club circle that you may not have seen for a while. Meet and greet one night, an organised ride or two one day, a full dinner get together with some presentations on the last night. Generally no specific bikes displays etc as most of the BMW motorcycle clubs are not into that much. Because it's a BMW Clubs Australia event, you must be a member of one of the BMW motorcycle clubs to attend.

I didn't go to this years event but have been to all previous. Maybe a QLD event will fly this time, the previous two failed to launch.

Al
