Due to wet rain and reigning confusion Mick canned last Wednesday ride. So if the weather holds on Wednesday we are going to start from the Dayboro Bakery at 0930. All welcome.
Regards Martin.

A short sharp Blat this morning with Martin and the Salty Sea Dog. Plenty of bike and car action at the Dayboro Bakery - couple of R's with chairs and a local hot rod group out and about.

Martin had a pre-programmed new route in his GPS for us to follow - of course it didnt work and we ended up somewhere else as usual.

Over Mt Mee to Daguilar, got the Bellthorpe turn off first time (2 in a row now we haven't missed it). Martin took the lead to navigate the new ride to ?Royleston?.....well lets just say we didn't go there. Up the Bellthorpe range and the back way to Maleny to stop at Mary Cairnscross falls lookout - bit of rain on the way in.

One of the Krew (who shall remain nameless other than it wasn't me Very Happy) got hit by his own motorbike after dismounting and it rolled off its side stand and fell on him from behind, trapping him in a face down position with foot caught under bike and head perilously close to my parked bike and grabbing at the fairing with outstretched arms.

After first making sure that he didn't knock my bike over as well, we got him up. Ottawa ankle rules protocol followed and he was deemed 'fit to ride'. Helped him on and we headed for his place, where we helped him off...Left him in capable hands of his spouse.

Good fun and a good loop.

I hope that the anonymous person is ok and his steed didn't suffer too many injures as well.

I must have done something to upset Izzy the 75. I lavish attention on her wash polish and service her her with top notch products. Buy her accessories and take her out. I don't know what I did but with no warning she crashed tackled me from behind pinning me for the count. Mick and the Salty Sea Dog jumped into action and lifted Izzy off my battered and subdued body.

Mick then went into physiotherapist mode assessing the main damage was my right knee and other minor bits. Mick was concerned that due to the angle of my leg and foot under the bike I might have broken something. But after further assessment I was deemed still alive and able to ride with escorted supervision. Mick with a firm hand turned the now subdued Izzy around without incident. And between the two of them they managed to install me on the bike. We took the quick way home with me crawling up to traffic lights in order to avoid having to put my legs down. Once ensconced in my garage the guys separated me from the bike without too much pain.

Mick was sorely disappointed that my lovely wife didn't lecture me or insist that I should give up Izzy. After the removal of my bike gear, and further medical assessment Mick recommended that I keep and eye out for altering symptoms and if anything changes to go to a medical centre. I had a few more sore bits this morning that I didn't have last night but not as bad as I was anticipating. I examined a contrite Izzy this morning and the only thing wrong was a missing knob on the bar ends.  I believe both Izzy and I would have been in a far worse  condition if I hadn't been wearing full gear which has yet to be assessed for damage.

I would like to thank Mick and the Salty Sea Dog for their assistance and especially Mick for not rolling my body down the mountain and assuming ownership of Izzy, which he secretly lusts after. As punishment Izzy won't be washed for a week.
Regards Martin.

Great thread to read guys

I'm glad your ok Martin and that the bike is not damaged

Also happy to hear that the navigation was once again up to standard

Must admit I'm a bit scared to go for a ride with you lot now, it must be nearly back to my turn to drop the bike again   SE Kweensland K Kronies Wednesday 18th August Ride. 652573

Matt I don't think Gary has received the Golden Trainer Wheel Award as yet. Not wishing you or your bike any harm Gary. Mick holds the record for mobile drops and I believe most if not all of the others have been dismounted lie downs.
Regards Limpy.

Hey Martin.

Did you see my slow riding U turn and reverse angle park at Dayboro yesterday...turned the head, kept the revs up...it was a thing of beauty.

Having twice laid the old girl over slow riding, on Day 1 of big rallies in front of a multitude of witnesses. I think I am still the holder of the 'Golden Training Wheels' trophy. The girlish shrieks for help on one occasion also add to the credo of my performance.

G'Day All, I can certainly symphasise ? with Martin because I have had a few drops of the bike. Did a little 'slow riding course' a while back and the instructor , apart from other bits of knowledge , drummed into us that when said bike is parked on sidestand, said bike MUST be in gear. End of lesson. Cheers Tom

I don't want to be in the running for any awards, thankyou.  My specialty is bike falling over in the garage.  I'm just about to put some newish panels that have just been freshly painted to replace some scarred and cracked ones on the bike next week.  She's got new shoes front and back, new fork seals, new front disks and pads. Steering Head bearings are being replaced and oil sight glass next week also.  I wouldn't mind some Trainer Wheels for use in the garage though.
