hi porto ,
many have experienced the same
if you can find a fabricator , that will work by welding a fuel tank , many wont look at it hands down , but there are some out there
usually a plate welded to cover the hole will work fine , BUT , be aware that up the side of the tank in the same area is another likely weak point , where oxidisation has thinned out the aluminium skin , as you have seen near the fuel pump . its a low point in the tank where water will sit and oxidise away un-noticed for years
whilst its apart ...probe in that area and get it done at the same time
good luck

Thanks Charlie,
That all makes sense now mate. I will start looking for a welder now. I was worried I would have to try and apoxi it up .

There a welder up here in Brisbane which did mine but that wont help unless your posting it up
I had 8 holes in mine and then he pressure tested it for me

I agree with Charlie - go for a weld repair rather than epoxy.
I've had K bike tank leaks welded up in both Sydney & Maitland. Might be worth seeking out marine fabricators who work with aluminium all the time.
Cheers

Thanks for the advise fellas. I’ve filled it with an epoxy to hopefully keep me going till I find a welder near me. I’m hoping it seals it or at least plugs it so it’s just seaping a little. I can’t cope having it off the road. I’ll start checking marine places for tank welders.
