So for more history about the The melting fall apart BMW ODO gears just YouTube the subject. Now that you have an idea of what yours looks like the repair is not hard and I have proven these parts will work !  They are not  listed to work on my 1986 K100 but after removing my gears counting the teeth and replacing with this set they are a match.... I will list, I know first hand they are a working fix. So the site gives great service and ships First Class Mail . I hope this will help if you had the same problem with your ODO out of service due to the degrading gear problem. (If can help just text me.
