I found others mention an odd cross linking in the K series ignition which causes some to not go to generic or other ignitions... my case it's suzuki GSXR ignition I'm trying to use which the manual gives me precise switch links at different positions but I can't find the same in my BMW manual or anywhere. 

Any help or a link would be greatly appreciated.

Damn. That was a stupid reply, but it might still be useful. There's no aftermarket replacement for the BMW ignition switch and no way of fiddling/matching the internal linkages. The best you're going to get is to connect

red-red
green-orange

In the BMW loom connect slate (grey) to slate/blue. Net result is the pilot light circuit is always on. OTOH if you're in Canada, that linkage is, I believe, standard anyway (headlight always on).

Added as a new reply to make sure it becomes visible again.

Here's how the BMW K1100 ignition switch is wired:

Red - 12V power in
Green - output to load shed relay and other power
Violet - Radio and map light (K1100LT only)
Gray - Power to parking light & BMU for tail light
Gray/Blue - Cluster & other backlighting

The wiring of the K100's ignition wires to the Suzuki switch you posted a schematic of would be:

Red -> Red
Grey -> Brown
Grey/Blue -> Grey
Green -> Orange (or Orange/Yellow its your choice)

Colours on the left are K100, colours on the right are Suzuki.

Thanks guy's got this sorted out, I had to rewire the connectors doing something like this: 

09 GSXR ignition                   <----->     96 K1100 LT

Red(Bridged to GR on GSXR)  <----->    Red
Orange                                 <----->    Green
Orange/Yellow                       <----->    Violet
^Grey Power in from Red^     <----->    Not Connected on BMW Side
Brown                                   <----->    Grey/Blue, Grey

In this config I retain parking lights off of the GSXR Ignition. 

Note* The only way I can get away with the power bridge and no relays. The Radio and Map light have been permanently removed along with all accessory sockets. I'm running an LED aftermarket digital gauge and all the Lights on the bike are being converted to LED. if not the Box instrument cluster alone would likely pop a fuse.
