When you are getting the parts.....
Advise to get the BMW fuel line, its 8mm inside and 13mm outside diameter.
For ease of future maintenance don't replace those awful original clips, don't use regular hose clips but get the ones for the R bikes. You will need 6. Also, make the lines at the front longer by about 1 1/2 inches and you can thereafter move the tank without disconnecting the fuel lines to top coolant and access the electrical box underneath.
You can get quick release fittings too, but use metal not plastic ones.
Wise move on your part.
Not a particularly difficult job but a little fiddly, you need both lower fairing panels, leg panels, storage boxes off to do it. Watch the right hand lower panel, there is a screw underneath at the corner of the front of the radiator panel, bottom left as you look at the bike from the front, a small hole and easy to miss it. When you look at the radiator grille you see three screws, the 'missing' one is that corner underneath. You also need the bottom half of the airbox out of the way and its got 2 allen bolts inside it, bolted down to top of engine. These will be well seized, get lots of WD40 in to them and be careful not to round them or you may end up cutting it out of the way.
Make sure not much fuel in tank when you start the job.
