Here i am eventually got to grips with the protocol of how to get started here Idea  set up a profile 6 months ago after lurking a bit was introduced to this forum by a friend whom i bought my bike from so am returning to biking after quite a long while ,got lucky with this machine its runs great ,well now it does after an initial scare affraid caused by of all things a faulty spark plug What a Face He had maintained  and tuned it well  so  after a quick new set of plugs and fuel filter away we went and with that stainless remus pipe on her she sounds wicked, kinda makes me feel like the clock rolled back quite a few years to when i had a home built 400/4 cafe racer with a yoshi pipe  i classified that as frankensteins monster and named it a HONYAMASUKI .This girl is nothing like that shes all FRAU every BMW bit
30 years ago i could only admire them and did so on more than one occasion but now have the pleasure and it is a pleasure to get out there on a machine coming up on her 31st birthday AWW  but, dont let her age fool ya she kicks ass, still havent decided on a name  Rolling Eyes  suggestions  appreciated happy trails

Greetings Rich welcome to our Knuthaus. Probably don't need to tell you about the Irish K bikie gang seems like you have met at least one of the disreputable mob. Laughing

Welcome along Rich - that Corkboy seems to be shedding all his Ks into Cork...but good to know that you are pleased with your purchase and managed to met up with some of the Eccentrics at the Christmas Brunch. Resistance is futile - whilst there are many a twisty road and country lane on which to hide in Ireland, you can't go far without running into one of the Eccentrics, so joining them is by far the best option.

It has been over a year since I was last in Ireland (Christmas Brunch 2016)...starting to think my bikes have forgotten the way - need to do something about that. Mind you, the Eccentrics are headed over this way in a few months - a whole host of them are coming o'er the water in May to KFest at Donnington...perhaps you can join them?

Anyway, lurk no more and enjoy the ride.

Hi Richard, I read the first post and thought what the heck sounds like you but then I thought no he has that K a lot longer than 6 months considering it was 4 years back Fintan bought the K1100LT that replaced it and which I now have. Trip to Stradbally was like Fintan's harem...!

Wasn't your first Stradbally either, you made the previous one too.

Given the weather we had that way trust me the onion technique is the only way to go and I am a firm believer in it. It was sunny, mostly but not much over 2c.

Fintan has booked the ferry for K Fest, Friday 11 May Irish Ferries 8:45am from Dublin arrive Holyhead 10:45am. Will Crean, Simon and myself will also be on it. Fintan is coming back Sunday night but we are coming back Monday. Fintan has booked hotel there, so has Simon. Will and myself plan on camping.

So now you should go along!!!
