Hi everyone
I recently replaced the exhaust studs on my 1984 k100.
I decided to use an alternative to the genuine parts.
The genuine exhaust studs have an expansion joint.
The studs motobins and Motorworks sell don't have this.
Due to financial constraints, I decided to use m8 bolts and cut them to size.
I purchased m8 high tensile? Yellow zinc bolts from Bunnings.
Retail price was $8.00.
I am concerned because the bolts I use do not include the expansion joint ( section of the stud which is not threaded)
I presume this is to allow for expansion of the exhaust headers.
Should I be concerned?
I have tightened the exhaustnuts firmly and I doubt have made Any allowances for the expansion of the motorcycle components due to heat from the exhaust components.
I intend to replace the studs with the genuine parts as soon as my financial situation improves.
Any suggestions?
all advice is appreciated.
Thank you for your time.
Regards
Gabriel
