That wasn't quite what I had in mind.

There are different forums for that sort of thing.

I was thinking of the thick silicone mats for protecting worktops from hot pots. But you did get the colours, they come in black though.

Ha, ha funny.

I know what Oluf had in mind. Regarding the tube I would have to cut it open in order to get it around the stand. This would probably mean it would fall off eventually.

That might work. Thanks.

It not that I'm stupid and can't fix stuff but we have a saying in Denmark "why reinvent the deep plate" meaning someone on a forum like this might have developed something very brilliant so why not ask.

This thread was very informative and went a very interesting way.

But the person who has amazed me most was IngeK with his sense of humour amid that encyclopaediac knowledge of the K100 and obviously a lot more.

That's why I love the forum.

If there was an award for post of the year it must be a front runner.

I wasn't aware that what I posted two days ago, "Silicone hose" and "Cut it lengthwise, slip it over the leg and tie it with some wire."  doesn't translate into Danish.

I'm sorry I didn't take detailed photos of my stand where it hit the Remus muffler on my K100 and I stopped it with the hose.

He, he I know. My problem was I didn't (don't) know where (what) to order, till Inge gave me a Danish link. The latest link (was it eBay?) didn't ship to Denmark.

So advises like yours are gold, but if it can't be found here I'm SOL. That's why I asked if someone had a suitebel piece of head resistant rubber I would gladly pay.

Proves the forum is much better than Google Translate and a lot more fun and you did come up with a really good solution. But IngeK might now be referring to 'Silicone panty hose' to cover the leg........slip it over the leg..... best stop there.

In Denmark "Inge" is only a female name but as fare as I know it can be both male and female in Norway. Ant way "slip over the leg" female. I hear you Very Happy

Any way yes maybe I actually might have found something myself.

It is designed to be wrapped around a muffler. Why I have no idea. Maybe for soundreducement????

No. It's designed to keep the heat in to help increase engine power but needs to be used alongside other engine tuning mods as well. These days it's used more for pretty looks.

Thanks. But will it work? Or will it melt like plastic and get my sidestand stuck to my muffler like it was glued on?

This may work.
A lot of racers whose exhaust is very near to the Riders legs, thighs or other body parts use this to prevent burns when touching the exhaust for brief moments.
