Hi guys.

Have anyone seen a place where they make Collectors to the k100 other than the ugly ones found all over the internet.

My eyes bleed when i see an exhaust system like that. I was thinking about a 4-2-1 system or maby a 4-2 system. Depending on the looks.

Mads if you post a link then we will know what your idea of ugly is. We might just give you a link to the ugly ones. Very Happy

Mads, let me try...

By the ugly one, do you mean this one?

http://cafe4racer.eu/en/k100-exhasut-parts-collectors-4to1/21-collector-4to1-bmw-k100.html

Maybe this one is more to your liking?
I find it was more sexy anyway...

http://www.bskspeedworks.co.uk/k-collector.html

If that's not it please show us the offending parts you mean...

The BSK Speedworks collector  is so far in front from an engineering point of view that there isn't even a comparison.
The one from the cafe racer joint will most likely crack where the stubs are welded and it's fugly.

As collectors go I think they are just the cheapest possible solution to supply a demand.
I made my own to fit onto K12 headers.

Not a great image because the stand's in the way.

Get the welding set out is my advice.

What kind of welder did you use on that?

Tig and a small hammer.
Unfortunately I don't have oxy/acetylene equipment so it wasn't as easy had I'd have liked to get the shape around the end of the headers.
I can't see Igor Akrapovic breaking into a sweat yet!

Thanks. I would love some TIG or even some Mig kit but Argon or CO2 bottles are hard to get without spending a fortune here in France.

Same herefter in denmark, but how often would You need to refill, say a 20l botlle, My guess is it could last a year at least.

Here it is the cost of the annual bottle rent that is expensive and not the gas consumed.

Ahh,,rent, yes i see, i own 2 propane bottles, 11kg, and When one is empty i just tage it to a local gas station(petrol)  and swap it for a filled one,and only Pay for the propane, No rent for the botlle.
Would be Nice if that was the case with protective gasses too
