OK! Please be gentle here as I know this sounds daft!

I need to take some stuff in to work tomorrow about 10kg in weight but I only have one pannier as one is with a friend being refurb'd. So... Is there any issues that anyone has come across when using just one pannier, it's not a lot of weight but I have never had just one fitted it's either none or both so somewhere in my head I keep thinking there's a reason for that. Embarrassed face LOL. Embarassed

Cheers all

 Dave

At speed it will definitely effect your handling, but I can see no problem "putting" to work. I can go thru high speed sweepers with just sticking my elbow out in the slipstream. So you can see what one bag hanging out there could do to the handling, Under 50 MPH I would not see an issue. the 10KG's would worry me more, LOL I've never had a set of bags that I trusted with more than a gallon of milk

I rode my R1150RT around for a few days with just one pannier and it felt no different at all. I realised that I had not fitted the other about an hour into my 3 day trip and decided that I was not going back home for it.

As they say...ride away. Just be aware of the 10k on one side and not the other. I have often done it around town without any ill effects. Krauser K2s that I use are great and despite the 10kg load label inside they have had 20kgs in them. Just don't hit a pothole.

You will look a little funny with only one pannier, but that is probably the only downside.

With 10kg in it, I would be cautious about large bumps.
