rob ...I found today that I had two different locks on my panniers
similar to the keys inge has posted above ......what rotten luck
but I modified one of the cylinders ( the bit that accepts the key into the lock body )
here
what I did was to get a 1.2mm drill bit and remove the part of the profile that different ...was at the base of the key ...in the lock mechanism
I found an old suitcase key that was very similar ...( as there is little difference on the keys from about 1/4 inch up the shaft of the key ...the important bits are in that last 1/4 inch )
this key was a cheney number 35 which was a pretty close fit just a little profile modification required
both locks now look like this
the modified key which now fits both locks
think it only took me half an hour once I got the key
