Hi,

I wanted to upload a nice clean hires image of a schematic and it got refused because of size.

A few questons:

a) what is the size image ?
b) is it possible to stop it increasing it further by automatically converting to jpeg? ( that is not the most compact for block graphics like schematics ).
c) is there way to upload a non image format to the forum?  Eg a pdf.

Thanks.

Apologies in advance for the hijack, but...

...where the heck are the instructions for new new photo hosting procedure?  I just figured out how to do it the old way in less than 45 minutes and now this new box appeears that I haven't a clue about.  Nothing I try works, and a search only brings up the old procedure that has nothing to do with the new stuff I'm seeing.

Click the 'Host an Image' button in the 5th group on the toolbar.
Click '+ Select Files'
A file browser window will open. Select the file/s you want to host/upload. The new functionality allows for multiple files to be uploaded at the same time. To select more than one pic file, hold the CTRL key while selecting the pics. Click 'Open' bottom/right
The new 'Host an Image' box is scrollable.
Click the Blue upload button. There's one for 'All' above the file list, or you can upload each individually.
Three links appear for each pic, just select the middle URL with a single click and copy and paste into the message.
You can go back to this list and upload or select other links for previously uploaded pics or add new pics to the list.
The list is cleared after you 'Send' your post.

cheers

All very nice, Kaptain, I am doing exactly what you say, but can you tell me what it means when I keep getting "Error No conversion from text to iframe" every time I click the damn blue button?

I get that message no matter what .jpg photo I try to upload.

Works for me. I suggest you start a new thread  and specify browser version, platform etc if you are getting error messages like that. Sounds lika bug in the script.

I'm guessing you're using IE???
If so, about time to change to Chrome or Firefox

Yeah, IE...  And it sucks, but I had a start up problem last week.  Windows "repaired" my registry problem, and in the process stopped Firefox from working along with screwing up a bunch of other stuff on my machine.  Haven't had the time to fix Microsoft's "fix".

Why don't you use a computer which you own and control instead of one owned and controlled by Microsoft?  Just an idea.

You may be less prone 'virus' problems too.
