Hey, no worries Waz. S'pose I should've clarified that earlier. WarrenC is in the same boat. Catch you up there.
My plans for Friday remain if anyone else Sydney-side is interested.

Just to let you know I am going over to Boorowa on Thursday and staying overnight with Tom, Rick, Gaz etc. I have arranged to meet Stan there when he comes through on Friday morning and we will head home to Robbo via Crookwell and Goulburn.
So, means there may not be anyone there when you arrive which is no problem as you all know the drill here.
I'll leave a fireplace and wood set up out near the shed as it looks like it may be cool. (no surprise there).
I have some friends living in the flat here, Brian and Sandra, whilst they build  new home so don't be scared to say hello. I am also arranging a PortaLoo as we are on a septic system here and don't want any surprises.
Hope it clears up for everyone.

Last point, does anyone have a bus/truck licence amongst the Friday travellers? I might be able to get a small
bus for Friday night if we have a driver. Otherwise relay deliveries by Mrs RT and friends if we wanted to chow down at the Bowlo.

Sounds good, and fits well with the simple BBQ I've lined up at Mummel for Sat lunch.

Any special dietary needs? (BTW, inch thick eye fillet of Wagyu is not a need!)  Smile  Wink

News that won't come as a surprise to the boys from northern inland. We just had the biggest frost here today, of the year. Means a nice day. Looking ahead, seems to be a chance of drizzly weather, tops of 15 for next weekend. I'll get some more wood ready.

No bunks, no French chamber maids, limited hot water supply. Not sure why you want to come. I have firewood, dogs and food.
If everyone likes I can go to Aldi/Dan Murphiy and pick up some beers if the drinkers want to split the costs later. The bottlo here in town is expensive.

For the info of Krew members who are heading out from Newcastle Central (Tom's Place) on Thursday morning to meet up with me at the Branxton Truck Rest Area, my friends at Google Maps indicated it is about 340kms to the Lithgow fuel up and lunch spot on the plan. K Bikes starting with a full tank should be fine with that I believe however if anyone is getting nervous (possibly due to having increased their fuel consumption somehow) there is fuel at Colo Heights along the Putty Road.

Those in the Krew who are riding other models of bike - I haven't got a clue about your fuel range and at this stage of ownership you probably don't either.

I had thought we might have a koffee at the Grey Gums as it is a reasonably early start (on the road from the truck stop by 7:30am) and likely to be a bit kool. Some riders who might be quicker than me (I couldn't hazard a guess!!) might have time for 2 cups.

Cheers

Just to confirm details ... in case

Is there an address, date and time?

Failing arriving on time at this address, I assume the bus will have taken everyone to Robbo pub or bowling club (as far as entertainment goes - that's about it apart from the World's Biggest Turd).

As father's day is near - there is no clash. Need to get it on the calendar.

And failing it all, if it requires a car to be driven, then so be it.

Regards

Guy

The weather is looking a bit grim here for Friday night/ Saturday.
I'm off to the bottlo today, get some Coke Zero? Lift? and a mixture of beers. Then I better get the firewood in.
I was going to wash the bike but that might occur naturally.
Safe riding.

indian036 wrote:Hi GF, hope you can get a machine registered in time. Would be great to have you along.

I'm hoping to have another one registered by then as well, but at least I have the luxury of 2 currently registered, or 1 if I don't pay the money for one of them.

Did some route exploring today in the rain (hope we don't have that for 3 Sept!).

Suggested Ride for Saturday, subject to approval and/or amendment.

Starting sometime after 9am, to allow time for people not staying Fri night to arrive before we move out.

If people are happy, the route involves the scenic route to Mummel for lunch, 3hrs 15 mins, 218km. Via Fitzroy Falls, Exeter, Marulan, Brayton, Towrang, Goulburn, Crookwell, Grabben Gullen. There would be about 6km of dirt road, but pretty good condition. Would apply on either of 2 ways between Brayton and Towrang, though I'm not sure of the condition of the shorter alternative.

After lunch, return via Bungonia, Tallong and Bundanoon. 2hrs 19mins, 140km.

Times and distances via Google Maps, total 5hrs 39mins and 358km.

Any feedback welcome.

Bill

I'm thinking the logical thing for me here would be to meet at Mummel where you are lunching.  We aren't likely to move real early in the am to be in Robbo by 9am after a late night in Katoomba.  I've never heard of Mummel before! Whats there; pub, cafe ?

Like many places in the country, Mummel is a locality with no defined "town" as such.

Whats there is a friend's place, with a welcoming smile and a barbecue at the ready. Drinks available as well, hot and cold. Al, I'll PM the address.

For anyone with a GPS, PM me your email address and I'll send you the .gpx files for the morning and afternoon parts of the Saturday ride. Gaz, I have your email so they'll be winging their way to you.
I won't put it on the public forum so address details aren't out there for anyone.

Well that's not very friendly Nigel!
Bill did say anyone with a GPS, maybe I'll PM him.....
Perhaps a jar of deadly spiders would help keep ugly gate crashers away.

They were generated in Tyre, which is the predecessor of My Route, so I'd be surprised if there was an issue there. Tyre comes with a TomTom, so no problem transferring to it.

Paul, happy to pass on the gpx files to you. Vicarious attendance?

I left the lunch fixings at Mummel today, so we won't starve on Saturday.

Best wishes to the travellers to Robertson on Thursday and Friday. Ride Safe.

Bill

You eccentrics could ride along with us using Google Street view. Here's a google map of Bill's .gpx file for those interested

Hopefully you'll be able to make it to Rosskko's Ride on your next adventure downunder Paul

Cheers

Looks like a fantastic outing - really wish that I could be there in person (it'll take more than spiders to keep me away!), but sadly not this year. Saving up already...just need to find the time and opportunity.

+1 on friendliness Nigel...just teasing lol!

"Vicarious" - I had to look that one up Bill...found that it had nothing to do with vicars after all, which is probably just as well.

I look forward to reading the various accounts and seeing the pics.

Not long now, just enough time for those final pre-ride tweaks, polishing (I presume that's why Stan was asking after the brasso?) and fluid top ups.

Weather radar looks clear this morning, we might get out to Boorowa without getting drowned after all. Not too cold either so another great day for riding (fingers crossed).

I suspect Stan was needing the Brasso for the Brass Monkey as in the weather was so cold it would "freeze the balls off a brass monkey".

Don't tell me it's not an international saying?

Cheers

Yes Gaz, your reading of my thoughts was correct. Maybe we need to start another thread to educate some members of the forum about "real" Australian language.
Latest news here..flood watches for 4 of the systems around me. No rain today but intense rain starting about 11 tonight and hammering us. Four weeks ago we had a similar forecast and flooding was a big problem. In their wisdom the bigwigs released water from our dams... to make room for the extra rain. In doing so the levels in the rivers, down stream have gone up and are waiting for more. I will get there one or another. As I am leaving tomorrow morning at sparrow fart, I will work out the final plan then. RT, still meeting with you as planned.

Light to medium constant rain today right across the region so the Hunter Krew will be reveling in it on their way from Borrowa to Robertson today. I'm sure Rosskko will be with them.

I'm heading south at sparow's fart tomorrow morning to catch up with Waz and then up the hill to Robertson for the Krew's 9am departure from RT's.
The weather forcast says it will be a wet day. I was going to take the 'new-to-me' '88 K100RT for a spin but Sweet Thing has new Battlax T30 Evos front and back which should give me a bit more grip in the wet.
