Hello Everyone, I bought a 1985 BMW K100 RS 12 Months Ago It had only done 28,000mile as it was stood in heated garage for around 20 Years, I Rode it from just outside London to Chorley in Lancashire, got back and found out the Sprag Clutch had went, so it went from to replace the Sprag Clutch to a total strip down and rebuild and upgrade.
It is going to be different than any other K100. Will upload picture later on..

Its a gold pin stripe, picture looks funny.. will be uploading more pictures tomorrow of repaited frame, engine casings, shaft, gearbox etc....

JPS, you are right! Black and gold. This was the style in the mid 70's. Even the cigarette packs where black and gold. OK I am old!

Woah! Outstanding work mate!! Reminds me of the old black/gold John Player Special paint scheme on the Lotus F1 cars back when Mario was World Champion.

Looks superb. Planning on doing the same bits on mine in gold to complement the Mini hot choc metallic paint. Have you got any pics of it assembled?

Here is a K100 BMW special edition in black and gold. I don't remember which year it was sold, but it's totally BMW original(even the exhaust)

How many people have seen one like that before?

A friend of mine in Stanthorpe has a John Player Special K100LT. It's not in real good condition but still looks good, from what I can find out it came new like that but it still has the factory fairing.

Very thorough resto ther Paul, can't wait to see the end result. Nice colour combo.

The pics that CF put up are interesting. Always wondered why the left pannier has a recess at the back off it. Going by the upswept exhaust it would fit into the recess, unless there is another reason for it that i'm missing.

I have seen a few get caught out with old threads so maybe if the year and not just the Month and day was attached to each post it could help.
That one is dated May but apparently 4 years ago which it doesn't show on the screens of us mere mortals.

Shows the year on my iPad and MacBook.

I recall CF doing a clearing up of the forum since that last posting, may have been one of them if there was no log in for a long time. Mine does show up the year, even on the Blackberry....

Still, I too wonder what happened to it. I liked those JPS colours so much the Honda 500-4 I had at the time back then got painted in them.....complete with a matching two piece Honda suit from a friend in the US....wonder if that's where the Power Ranger suits came from.
