Ouch! Came home from a ride tonight and pulled in the garage and went to put unit on centerstand,over it fell into the work bench.

I caught it no major damage. I believe the stand broke in two. I will put it on lift in morning, perhaps a bolt broke.....I had read somewhere that after
years of use they went bad......(RUST INSIDE)

One thing after another, but on the good side it could have broke on a trip .....
So it wil get fixed tommorrrow..........................%#**t

Sprocket, fitting the re designed K1100 centre stand is a good upgrade. I have one on my 87 K100.

The stand was fitted by the previous owner (my BM mechanic), but I think a bolt on with perhaps a small trim of the left foot for tyre clearance. Can't see any obvious mods except grease nipples fitted.

Here is what you need

This one is quite cheap.

Do the grease nipples come standard from factory? I don't have any on my 86 RT, just a couple of holes, is that where you fit the grease nipples on the centrestand? Are all grease nipples a standard thread or are there fine and coarse threads? thanks B!

Bruce, there are grease nipples on the K1100 stand in the photo in Phil's post. I'm not sure if standard or not, but would be cheap to add if required.

Can't say much more other than they came with them but again secondhand to begin with but looked standard.

By 1990 they were fitting grease nipples.

Were good on centerstand.
Put Piece of Cold roll inside stand.
Made two Gussetts for curved part.
Test fit and did some minor grinding.
Primed and painted Good as new................

I guess it could have broken on trip...
Now I believe everything is Fixed( fingers crossed)...
