my name is Michael, I'm from Germany/Hessen. So my native language is German, please excuse misspellings.
Some time ago, I drove a K75 at work. I owned some Honda's, different Models and ended at K75RT years ago.

K75 didn't have enough power, for riding with pillion passenger.

Next was a K1100LT. I did a lot of improvements on this.
First, i was developing a unit, to balance intake and read and reset Motronic and ABS. This was mainly called "Karacho", later on UDIAG or VAC-DIAG. 
(UDIAG on Youtube Balance Intake ,  Reset Motronic Error )

Modified Intake, modified Ignition. RPM end was at 10.500 

Another Project was the KARAMBA project. Software KARAMBA was for setup Speedo, to show proper speed.
There was also a little circuit board (Microcontroller), which was able to transform frequency from speed sensor into different frequency. So the Speedo Counter and Trip Counter were coreccted, in case of one has changed wheel/tire size. (important on Sidecar bikes to get german "tüv")

However, Projects are history 

In time i'm driving a K1200RS. No improvements! It's working since a long time (97') without any problems.
As you all know: never change a (good) running system 


because of a coincidence, i found this forum and that members are using my old Karamba Project. So i decided
 to bring it back to life with some corrections and a linux version.

Hi Olaf,
a few years ago, i drove about 10.000 or more km per year. Some tires are burned out after 3000km.
( 2007 with Son on back is making video (Sound is terrible!) 

As time goes by.... now I have become a little cautious 
I do not travel on bike, because we also have a little Motorhome.
Sometimes i visit a Bike Meeting (Flyingbrick.de) or just for fun through the forrest 

My Son, Thomas, is also driving an old Beemer... it is a 1984 K100 with improvements in Drive, Fork, Fairing....

Hi Nino,
Engine is Stock, only new colored in black.
Drivedrain with Clutch is out from K1100RS (Paralever)
Fork is from K1, Speedo Cluster also.
Color is lamborghini orange (deeply reflective color)
Tire and Rim from K1100RS, also frontbrake.


Bike was formally a K100 nacked, so we adapted the K100RS fairing.


In short, only Engine and Frame is in original condition

This is a great post. I see a few more mods too, mainstand.....seat......rear cowl.....Paralever rear...black engine........a lot more than 84.

My son rides too but now has a Honda VFR800. I cant get him to get a K100....yet. But I know he has thoughts because when we go out together he cant lose the K100 behind him. My tyres last about 6 months, but I do get a lot more than 3,000km from them. This was from one of our trips but we have another one planned for this year. The location is very famous but you have to come to Ireland to see it. Craggy Island.

And yes, you're right! There are so many improvements on my son's K100, i didn't remember all
