Good day to everyone!
Wonder anyone does a conversion from MPH to KPH to their motometer?
I'm trying to convert my current motometer reading distance from mile to Kilometer.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

mph x 1.6 = kph

Is that what you were asking?

There is a company that supplies replacement gears for the speedometers, which could probably change your speedo ratios.

I think that the hardware is the same, wath changes are the numbers on the meter scale.
Best regards

Thanks to all the replies.
I'm just figuring how that motometer achieve the differrence(mph, kph) in the trip distance readings. The speed sensor has the same part number. So could it be that plastic gear ratio in the trip meter or some setting on those circuit board in the motometer?? Otherwise I might have to add a divider digital IC to achieve that, but then that give space issue within the motometer.
Any thoughts anyone??
BTW I've converted my trip display to LCD. Will sent pics for anyone keen.[img][/img]

Ruben,
from memory and I am not an electronic wiz, but I seem to remember that one way of checking the speedo is to bring a mains powered soldering iron close to the sensor (at the rear wheel) and see if the speedo starts to read some speed, eg 80km/h.

Also there is a bunch of posts around from people who have dissected the electronics and can give you detailed info on frequency vs speed etc. I have this somewhere and will post it if I find it.

So, I believe that the speedo is nothing than a volt meter which responds to A/D conversion to drive the needle to some level.

I haven't thought about how the gears are driven.
