Hi, Alf here from Australia. Thought I would join a forum to pick your brains and enjoy some chit chat about a new to me brand of bike.
After 28 years of riding Japanese road and dual purpose (around 14 I think) I took a break for around 2 to 3 years. I bought my sons a couple of dirt bikes and it has started all over again. I had a desire to purchase a road bike again but didn't know what to buy.
I put a bit of thought in and decided it had to be something completely different. my last road bike was a 2005 Yamaha XJR 1300. It had to be quite different to that. My first choice was an R80. I started looking and found one in particular that led me to an interesting conversation with its owner. He said for your first BMW, have you looked at a K75. Anyways after lots of reading and some advice from him I decided that was what I was after, particularly an S model.
So it's my first triple, fuel injected, single sided swing arm, pannier equipped bike.
Found one on Sydney, couple of weeks of pictures, videos etc I bought a plane ticket and rode it home 900kms.
A few issues to iron out but it is a 23 year old bike.
Very happy owner.
