Where abouts are you DB, just to give us a clue as to the conditions of your mid winter ride.

I had a nice Blizzard mid winter ride last week. The first decent trip I've made without the fairing since it was removed week before. A sunrise start and a couple of hours south for work and return trip at night. About 5°c... that's reasonably chilly for the subtropics. Its all relative I suppose.

Last Monday, the weather widget on my phone said it was 12 degrees outside, so I showered and dressed for bike. The thermometer on the bike said 3, but I was already dressed, so I thought "why not". Got down to -0.4 on the way.
I usually don't ride for three months every winter,  but more because of the inconvenience of getting undressed when I get to work.

My mid winter ride yesterday to Spencer, on the Hawkesbury River for breakfast with some mates. Lovely morning but the trips through the fog let the cold creep in till I was questioning whteher the heated grips/heated hoodie were working. Lovely morning on the 16v anyway.

I don't mind riding in winter, but virtually stop riding in December/January cause I really dont like the heat, I'd be happy if it never went over 25c.

Oh, I seem to have bought another K too.  An 86 K100RT, the fairing will go to the sidecar, the remainder of the bike will be used for dirt touring(selling Maries F650GS-twin anyway). The RT is registered now but will go on club reg next year Have to start shedding some of the spare bits too, space is getting real tight.

Bloody K pox.

Al
