Help needed please. I have done a search on this and have done the following tests - 1989 K100/2:
Connecting pin A2 to 45 (15) operates the fan - works fine.
Connecting A3 to ground operates the high temp light - also works fine.
Connecting E to ground should operate the fan - it doesn't (does this only work with the relay connected? - tried both ways).
What happens when some idiot (ahem) connects pin 9 to ground instead of A3? I think (hope) this will only have power when the starter button operates the FI Relay?
So assuming I haven't fried anything, can I assume my Fan Relay is not working?
Hang on, I may have been even more stupid. If pin 9 gets power from the FI Relay, and if this doesn't come into play until the engine starts, and pin 9 is the power for the Temp Relay coil, does this mean the engine has to be running to do the grounding pin E test?
