Must be something in the air at the moment.

My postman rides a bike. Early this week when he dropped off the mail he left me a phone number and a name with a comment that someone who works with his girl friend has a bike that has a problem. She even had a photo of the bike for him. He told her he knew 'someone who likes old BMWs' who might be able to help because his bike looks the same. A 1984 K100RS. Turned out I had met the same guy a few weeks back and he hadn't taken up the invite to join the forum. Quick call sorted him out and he took the K to a bike shop who knew their stuff and who sorted him out for small money and all is well again. Ye old throttle problem. I still haven't found out where this K came from. Great to see Kpox being spread about. Still cant infect my son with it though, despite my efforts.

So hope we see photos now.......

He bought a Honda VFR800 2 weeks ago and parked it at my place. Sadly he could have bought a few Ks or even a good K1 for the price of the VFR but he 'doesn't care to promote Macdonalds'.

Last Sunday we went out for a ride and really enjoyed it.

Trying to get him on a K. He rode mine once and did like it but its a serious image issue with him. Can't help it. Having said that he spent years being driven in a Merc and then decided to get one of his own. He spent years listening to nice music and decided to make his own. Maybe its just a matter of time. Only maybe because we spent years camping and no way will he come camping now even if I organise the trip. Not once did he ever have to eat tinned beans on a camping holiday and he never found spiders in his cereal so I don't have the answer. He does have a girl friend going back 10 years now, if it weren't for that JediGirl would be a good match for him....Hehe.

He never really forgave me for telling him after he bought a bike on his 21st 'now we can go for rides. 'How, you don't have a bike?'. 'Oh yes I do......'. Showdown, a few months later I acquired a K100LT......I never encouraged him onto them but never stopped him either.

Invited him out this Sunday with a K or two but he is working and that's genuine.

Olaf, was that me :-) ? Well far as I can tell, the bike was registered in the UK in 1985,then here in 1995, I'm the 8th owner! The guy I bought it from was a garda, and his wife wanted to start riding but wouldn't get on the K, such a shame he he!! Think it was off the road for 4 years, last tax was 2010 !!

Olaf. I've never encouraged my kids to ride but both my son and daughter are motorcyclists. My son, only for occassional city transport but my daughter, like me, uses her bike (customised SR 400) everyday to get about, rain or shine, and is a part of the cafe bike scene in Sydney. She's involved in organising this year's Throttle Roll event.
Neither of them really liked my K when I bought it but as soon as I showed my daughter some examples of modified Ks she showed some interest. She is now suggesting I put my old girl under the knife. Apart from losing its fairing, for now, that's not going to happen. Maybe down the track sometime when I have the Pox.

Petrol tank is full of god knows what.....

Here we go again - K100RS - 1984 369a8444646098d4c495adda7156a9b7

First Problem - I think she has been sitting in a shed for approx 20 years.....

The good news:-

After pulling the tank off my K1100 and jerry rigging the fuel pump wiring (that was interesting, I was waiting for it to go BANG! in my face) - Anyways, she lives!!!!!

She started after a little work and much to my surprise and very crisp note indeed. The Speedo says 101,000kms I'm starting to believe it. All the idiot lights work, including the gear position,  I did not spin the back wheel yet as the center stand is broken (as they do).

Enough to know so now I can move on.......
She will be a peach.......

IT LIVES !!!!!!!!

Parts needed for now:-

1. Side covers left and right there are some on the site however if local that would be great.
2. Petrol pump and rubber dubbery -  (I think I buy a new Rubber Dubbery).
3. Center side....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
(I think my Dar 80 years old is getting the pox) - He was more excited than I was today when she fired up.
