Hi from the UK 1.th Hi from the UK 2.th Hi from the UK 3.th

I initially had the intention of building one of these (I know this may be controversial):
Hi from the UK Cafe.th

However, I went to look at it yesterday and it is in extremely good condition. It would be a big shame to take off all the fairings, luggage etc,

I'm thinking of keeping an eye out for a second K100 that doesn't have such good condition bodywork, seat, etc (basically everything I would remove).

Thoughts?

Congrats on the second thoughts. I prefer not much modification myself, but fully respect other's right to disagree with me and do what they want with their property within safety boundaries.

For me though, if there are going to be such drastic modifications, I would agree with you and prefer to see it done to something less original and nice looking.

Either way, a warm welcome and there will be lots of generous good advice on this site.

Bill

You have started off with a bang, usually it takes a few months to think about getting anothery. (Kpox is very contagious).
I'm with Indian here, look for a cheapy, depends on how big the shed is.

Hi Alexander welcome to the World of K. WARNING:- K-Pox is highly contagious and having 2 of them is inviting infection and can never be cured regardless of how many you get but one consolation is that it can be a very easy thing to live with.

Thanks all.

I have a thing about red bikes. I don't buy them on purpose, but I just end up with red bikes?

I have a 1991 XJ600 (in red).
A 2012 Honda NC700 (in red)
a 1991 Honda CBR1000 (you guessed it! Red!)

and now this!!

Its not so much the space issue, its the girlfriend acceptance factor, and taxing, insuring etc. I still have to decide what to do with it, maybe I will keep it for a bit then sell it on after I buy a cafe/bobber/whateveryyouwanttocallit suitable replacement.

Hi Alexander. That Lady in Red deserves to be preserved. You'll find if you rider her for a while you will fall in love and you'll need to oust one of your other gals from the harem.
Anyway... welKome to K-world

I'm sure that will be the case. I will be getting rid of the CBR1000 and replacing it with the K100 for sure. Decisions decisions!

I agree - that one is too nice for modifying. Lots of scabby ones (bodywork wise) that run well and make a good enough base for a cafe.

Welcome along!

Thanks, The K1100's seem to be a bit cheaper as people don't know to look for them I think? I  may try and pick one of those up, I will try in the off season when its cold and rainy Smile

fab 2nd thoughts, clever. I want to build an electric K. Touring tip = I have a few Ks here in New Zealand for touring K forum members to use at totally fair cost recovery, i can pick forum members, overseas and including south islanders and Stewart Islanders up ex Wellington city airport or Paraparaumu airport look after them for a night or 2 and even guide a tour. After the tour I drop you back to the airport. I can get sharp rates on the cook Strait Ferry, know some fab roads and out of the ordinary bike museums, maori maraes etc to visit in out wonderful K iwi bike paradise. message mawhera if interested for more info.

zz set for forum mates to take
