Morning All,

Planning an impromptu maintenance day this coming weekend on Saturday 21st.  I have offered to give Ulls a hand with his handlebar conversion and talking with a couple of other members who have expressed an interest in getting together for some K bonding.  :-c:

So, if any one from the SEQ/NNSW is interested in popping in for a yarn or a cuppa and to swing some spanners, feel free to drop buy.  Located on the southern side of Brisbane/northern Gold Coast, south of Beenleigh, just off the M1.  Easy to find and Yatala Pies is up the road for lunch.

No fixed times but home all weekend.  PM me if interested and for the address.

Cheers, Dave.

bit hard to predict nigel

Saturday at tacklers would be best at this point

my daughter has hinted at seeing me this weekend ...got me confused as to why and when that exactly might be ...if at all,  as I had planned to head south and perhaps see them once the site job was over ..at that time, was hoping to get away for the eden meet  and sydney being on the way either there or back would have tied in with this week sometime .

but celebrating my 60 th on  Friday by date... has me concerned that they intend to be here over the weekend . not that I don't want to see them just buggers up the meet planned already .

but will be at tacklers in any case on the Saturday ....not sure of time frame at this point but a 8.30 arrive time is not out of the question

would have been good to pull the lower fairings on daves (werewasi ) rs  to fix the fan issue for a start ...was on my agenda, to help out

just some thoughts

Sounds like you might have a busy weekend charlie. Hope we get to meet.
David is driving up in the ute to deliver stuff to Bris. I'll be travelling with him.
We'll work at meeting up as early as possible on Saturday unless we hear different.

Cheers

Hi charlie,
yes i would like to look at the fan but I can't bring the RS.

I have broken my shoulder and am awaiting surgery Monday to fix. It's a mess.

That's why Nigel talked about the two of us coming up in  my ute.

Anyone got Dr Nitschieke's phone number?

No Charlie, It Is usually difficult to get a 220kg bike up on to the ute with its 900mm high deck (is a Ranger Hi rider) but with a broken shoulder, the chances are zero.

I'll have to try another time.

Nigel and I will go to TacKlers and get there about 9.  All of it is a bit uncertain because I have to do a drop of a garage kit to Sth Brisbane and if the rain is too heavy, then there'll be a problem because it's cartoned and can't get wet.  Will look at weather Fri night and decide.

Don't know if the good (or bad) Doctor's phone number is available in Kweensland.  Probably an NT code, with an extension to the local gaol.

PMs sent with address to interested parties.

Predicting rain so bring your togs.

Here's a thought for this day over the tea and sKones.

Ks are good for a once a year oil/filter change and some other routine tasks.

Would it work to get together a list of stuff and have it delivered to one of us here and then post it on surface mail from here to Australia? Seems a lot of places charge a fortune for post or else won't sent it down there. Thinking lightweight items like air filters, fuel filters, maybe gaskets, o rings, shims, relays, sensors, engine seals, fork seals, brake pads, brake repair kits, clutch cable etc etc, whatever, new or used or from a variety of sources. Anywhere with free post in UK is even better, we can put it all in one big package and send it down sea mail and the postage cost should not be an expensive proposition. For this time next year or whatever you would have a big bag of cheap parts and some useful spares.

Another thought is Dave could take some in his bags when he is going back. He could leave some of his clothes/boots here and we can use them to polish our Ks up so they look as good as yours post them back down as they would not need as much protection.

Thanks Tackler. Will see you about 9ish.
I'll bring the sKones and jam so long as you have a hot oven and the makings for a nice cupa' tea. Very Happy

I think there's rain forcast up that way for the pm. We should be clear in the morning... but who know with cyclone Nathan crossing the coast just above Cairns tomorrow at category 4... anything's possible on Saturday.

Olaf. Sounds like a good idea. I'm putting an order together for Motobins for quite a bit. I'll put a post up this week and we'll see who else wants in.

Cheers

Food for thought Olaf. Weight is the big thing coming home.

Is the free post only within in the UK?

Well apart from the weather which put a dampener on things, we did manage to scoff a few sKones and Kake along with lots of tea.  So more talking than torqueing.

A few minor things were achieved with Ulls' bike as the main parts had not arrived.  Thanks to TWB for the donation of an alternator cover which I found a home for after his last trip.

And thanks to WerewasI for staying awake.  I think the major maintenance of the day had to do with someone's fuel cap.

No photos as the new Serving? for photos does not like my camera anymore.

Thanks everyone for turning up, especially with the weather as it was.  It absolutely bucketed down on Sunday.

And the secret recipe for the tea is ....... Mum's the word.

Laughing  Weeell. I didn't want to dump on him... and I made it home okay Maintenance Day SEQ - Sat 21st 652573 . He was only 20 or 30 km short and was able to get a lift. I only had my bike which I'd left at Bangalow and rode home in the rain (different direction to david).
I think we did pretty good considering we left your place with the fuel guage wavering just above the red. Very Happy
