Now we definitely must repatriate the banner to its rightful home.
It has been to the land of the Eccentrics and to some very historic places apart from the home of Guinness and Craggy Island and has travelled most of Ireland at this stage. It has been to Newgrange, the Mournes and Giants Causeway, the Norn Iron September outing, passed by Bushmills and Dark Hedges, travelled to France to Rouffignac and the home of Cro-Magnon Man, Roque du St Christophe and the home of the Troglodytes so its now full of ancient history. Even better though is that it really tells a story of the forum and it has been a centre of conversation at times as wepoured pored over the names and the people behind them. We owe a lot to Crazy Frog and to all the guys who make up the forum but never get to meet.
Since the Banner started from Australia a special word of thanks is due to the guys there who seem to enjoy the most incredible outings and meet ups and who had the idea of the banner.
It has been carefully minded along with the original tube in which it travelled to us which GroverK asked us to preserve. In between it has travelled in a plastic drawing tube, safe from weather etc.
I wish we could fill the empty space with something special by way of whiskey but there is a ban on it but if anyone else is up here you will be most welcome and we will try to meet up even if it is only a flying visit.
It has been a great pleasure having Bill here and I enjoyed my weekend immensely. Saturday travelling with Bill as pillion was a great day and a pleasure to have him on board, most especially for that run up to Sally Gap as it brought back some nice memories. The last time I did that two up was on a Honda CB500-4 at night in half the time at a far less sedate pace.....My friend who was on the back still counts that as his best motorcycle experience. At the time he said it was exhilarating.
Unfortunately work had prevailed to take me back home Saturday night when I was wishing to stay on.

Or should it read, "Bill is sent to Ireland by the Aussies to get their banner back......"
Ah, Olaf must have felt the vibes, he has just posted while I was posting on the same subject!
Looks like a great time was had by all, wish I'd been there too. Roll on August.

I did offer to take it back (while wondering if I might have to leave something behind at my daughter's place to allow for it), but Olaf said he'd post it. I hope to return for another visit later in the year (unlikely to be early August, though ) and may take it back then if it has other commitments on this side of the world before then.
In fact, the early August gathering might be a good chance to get some more autographs, along with the Europe run in between.
