His opening line is... "I am a restorer / collector of both Vintage and Classic BMW Motorcycles and I'm a real stickler for detail and original accuracy when restoring...but!!!  I had always wanted to play with my "inner self".
He's certainly playing with something
Shocked

It's the colour of the water at Tweed Heads. On 2nd thought, the Tweed is a bit murkier.

Looks more like Cafe decor, rather than Cafe Racer.

Ahh . .  but it DOES have one of "those" headlamps. That alone must be worth 17 grand, right? . . . Just when you thought it was safe to go back to fleabay 44271

On a more serious note . . .

The guy should be banned for giving the impression that Beemas (let alone ones as fugly as that one) are worth heaps if the wheels, shocks and body parts are all painted the same color!

a set of clip ons would have gone a long way in its appearance, and a bit more detailing on aged parts if you expect to sell at that price. other than that I like it ,
what the heck someone has to, just not in my budget range.

Like Ed, I don't mind the look of it, even though it is a bit 'out there', but the joke is in the price!

sure is ,
if it were still original , maybe get you close to the mark , but as it is , don't bother touching it.
would be a lot easier to sell in original condition.

Sorry . . .Just spotted and red the description

it IS a Turbocharged 1000cc with twin plug heads. It probably DOES do 200k in 4th.

The old RS1000's I had were good for 116mph (186kph) stock standard and I managed to get 125mph (200 K) out one
Turbo'd and plugged would probably be good for at least 150mph (240)

But it still does not stack up to that kind of cash

He's dreaming alright

I think it looks great, and I have a day off tomorrow. Wonder if I can get a test ride- and then get him to drop $10,000 off the price. I've done up enough bikes to know that you don't do it for a profit, you just try not to lose so much you can't afford to start another project. I'm looking at getting an '86 KLR600 tomorrow, but there's a KX420 at Ipswich I really want. Torn calf muscle and failing eyesight tells me I left my run on open class two strokes a bit too late.

He hasn't been selling BMW gear for long but all the gear is way over priced. I have been watching and laughing for about 3 weeks.

I lived in Banora Point for a coupla years, right up on the hill behind Tweed Heads where these auctions are based. That 'person' asked me online in a semi-suggestive way, in a local Airhead forum, if I wanted to go riding on my Airhead some time with 'him'. I assumed it was a Sheila with the handle of Goddessbikes. I said no just to be safe. Perhaps I coulda got a ride on the Blue Wonder if I'd said yes! Better safe than sorry.
Embarassed
