I'm in for a new Fuel Pressure Regulator, but the price BMW wants is like gold.
Here (Netherlands) euro 128, is about 150 usd  
Don't want a used one, been there, done that.
Is there a cheaper replacement?

Try to search Bosch 0 280 160 200.

I've just looked at e-bay under 'fuel pressure regulators' and there are 3600ish options, many of which are adjustable. 
Surprisingly cheap. 

As we know our K fuel pressure is set at 36 psi, so I can't see why any adjustable regulator that will supply that pressure wouldn't be OK.

Maybe someone here has tried an alternative?

€50 cheaper, but unless it's gold-plated, have the feeling it's still €50 too much

To get back on this, the FPR is good.
Worse, the spare FPR is good also.
Both K75 have the same problem.

Then....in another topic, thought it was Charly, mentioned the PR in the fuelpump  
So took one out, and took it apart.
Found the bugger, and it was a bit stuck, but got it moving.
Cleaned the pump, put everything back together, , placed it back and fired it up.
Yihaaa! it runs like suppose to be!!!!!!!
