HI Folks,
Need a bit of advice, I'm in the process of upgrading to an Eastern Beaver Relay for the headlight, and I was wondering what would be the best wattage to go to from stock.
Also I have replaced the stock instrument lights with LED's from Smith Duck, a well sought out option. However I have just obtained  the auxiliary fuel and temp gauges and I'd like to add led lights to them. Any idea where I can get then in OZ ?
Cheers
Mav

Welcome to the forum. Always great to have new members.

I am too far to advise re LEDs, but on the headlight I have 160/90W H4 in the car and tried one in the K to see what it was like. Awesome and well worth it. I haven't installed it yet, but in my box for fitting I have relay and also ceramic bulb connector [cheap as chips], plastic will melt. Just needs a heavier wiring from relay to the bulb holder.

You might find 160W hard to get but I have just found 160/100W and 130/90 are easy enough to get and will be fine.

Thanks,
Have a look at the eastern beaver site as it may give you a heads up as to what gauge of wiring you will need. I'm still waiting for mine to arrive, Perth has that problem..
K's are quite rare over here, mainly the boxers.
Anyway I'll keep looking for the LED's

I have the wiring got, its rated for more that 160W which is just over 13Amp. I think its 20A wire.

Ks rare over there? A great number of active Australian members on the forum...!

welcome aboard mav

those leds that fit the auxiliary instruments might be hard to track down ....but I see the list is ever increasing in variety

I chose to drill an additional couple of 3 mm holes in mine ( to spread the light intensity ) my old eyes needed the additional illumination

then fitted standard leds  from just about anywhere ,,,in this case jaycar sell a 3 mm wedge type led (with great illumination ) for a couple of bucks each and siliconed them in G'Day from WA 2013-110

fitted my needs at the time

Hi Maverick welcome to the Knuthaus.
I am using the Narva 55/60 in my K1100 and it has a great light output. http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/NARVA-Headlight-Globe-Plus-100-H4-12V-60-55W.aspx?pid=288119#Recommendations
You can usually pick them up for a lot less than "supercheep", think I got mine for around $40 for a pair.
