That's a genuine Triumph........and a potential K100 owner.

He will be needing one of these.

Just make sure its not left sitting under the bike. That's how a man with a few beers in Ireland is referred to as being 'well oiled'.

Don't see why not, he can hold the bike while I get on.

We have some that join us and they don't have a K. Far more important to have someone of a like mind whose company we enjoy. The K can always come later. ....

I am around long enough to remember the 1972 Triumphs in production, but it was a struggle to see them alongside the then Honda CB750-4, it was so obvious which was going and which was coming. I had a 73 CB500-4 and the general and not unrealistic expectation at the time was the Hondas would go forever but the Triumph's [and other British makes] build quality was less than perfect even though they were a nicer bike to ride and oozed character.

I never did think though that in the end the K would turn out to the perfect steed.

Lads...At this stage, me, bro Tom and Gaz are planning to overnight at Tallangatta on the Thursday night, and Cooma on Friday night, with a view to arriving at Eden early-ish afternoon on Sat, 14th March. This is by no means set in concrete, but allows us to have a good ride over the mountains on Friday (Jingellic, Tumbarumba, Cabramurra, Cooma) OR Cabramurra, Khancoban, Jindabyne and maybe overnight at Dalgetty instead of Cooma. Still to be determined.

Rickmeister.

Well Stanley, yesterday I came back from a 700klm round trip to Canowindra on the Suzuki. It wasn't as bad as I thought it might be, in fact was quite fun on the back roads. There's a chance I can get a trip via Cooma, but depends on dog sitters.

RT in the days when I was a wannabe BMW owner I rode a CX500 all over the country with lots of days in the 500 to 1000 km range and never felt that I needed a larger capacity bike for touring. Still think the same about engine capacity even though my bikes are larger.

Would love to see you on board the Suzi joining us on some of the rides when we're in your region.

Cheers

awww sad to hear dave

but I guess youl make up for it ...over there ... enjoy mate ...we'll have another get together in the not too distant future im sure

yeah cheers halo

a major win was achieved today ...phew !!

seems we're on the thrash list ... at last   ( this list consists of issues that the main contractor has neglected to do and we have proved that they have held us up so long that they now need to complete these documented items themselves ) ...as we were ready for "that" 3 or 4 months ago ( and notified them of such and new  inclusions to be installed to achieve the goal after a rework design by them half way through )...and variation requests ...have still not arrived as orders ...but the work has been completed ...and signed off

its coming together ....even have sentimental approval by our project coordinator for a week or more off at completion ...or what might be termed as ..we can go no further .

fingers crossed ...but knowing the main contractor it will all fall to sh#t in the last few days

fortunately we have programmed everything that is on site ...tested it and handed it back as ..."let us know " when it is plugged in
should have done that weeks ago ...just out of spite

Good to hear andyb, it will be great to meet you guys in person. There are at least 4 of us that are staying at the Great Southern Hotel on Saturday night.

Know the feeling with the tyre. This was my effort the last time I went down to Victoria - hoping not to repeat it for a while.

Wish I could be with you guys. Sad

However, the grandchildren and meeting the Eccentrics in a fortnight are compensations.

Have a great ride/meet up.

Bill

Rosskko, even though you might be quicker on the 1100, I don't think you are going to be close enough to catch up with our group in 3 hours. . . . . . .  now if you had 6-7 hours ??

Rick and I are wanting to be home on Monday night and haven't discussed which way yet but will keep a possible catch up on the way in mind.

Maybe we'll see you in Eden!

Cheers

Rosskko et al...Our itinerary (me, bro Tom and Gaz80) is as follows, and reasonably well set in concrete, insofar as all accommodation is booked except for Wed night.

Wed, 11th: Depart Hunter Valley, via Bylong Valley Way, Lue, Mudgee, Hargreaves, Hill End, Bathurst and overnight somewhere south of Bathurst.

Thursday, 12th: Wend our way south-ish, probably Temora, Coolamon, Wagga, Albury and thence overnight at the Victoria Hotel at Tallangatta.

Friday, 13th: Murray Valley Hwy, several options to be discussed over lagers at the Vic. I haven't ridden the Cabramurra to Khancoban road yet, and keen to do so, but by no means critical. Have booked digs at Buckley's Crossing pub at Dalgety for Friday night.

Saturday, 14th: Dalgety to Eden, route to be determined over yet more lagers on Thurs night. Arrive Eden early - mid afternoon.

Sun, Mon still to be determined, but leaning towards Batemans Bay, Braidwood, Goulburn, overnight at the Taralga pub or press on to Oberon. Thence Lithgow, Bell Road, Putty Road home.

If the feeling is confident, MAY consider doing a Ghostie, (Gordon) from Moruya up the forestry road to Araluen, Braidwood etc.

Cheers, Rickmeister.

Well folks Me and Marg are in Mudgee having left Stanthorpe about 10am yesterday and camped over night at a little place called Wallabadah (sic) however we wont be making it to Eden as Marg had a fall at some roadworks where there was a soft and sloppy section of sandy crap that they knew it was bad and were doing nothing to guide bikes around it or stopping them and saying please be careful.
I went through first as she was a bit behind me and got the red light.
The only thing that stopped me going down was the trailer prevented the back of the bike going around to meet the front when my front wheel went in.
After I got through I hurried back to one of the council dolts who was standing around and told him that the section was deadly dangerous to bikes and to do something to prevent an accident. He was a complete fuckwitt and could not have given a stuff. I said that my wife was about to come through and he said well tell her to keep on the other side (I presumed other wheel track) and I was talking to her on the intercom and said to use the other wheel track and as she came past all was good then suddenly she found the other side was just as bad and almost got through after some good control then the front dug right in and round came the back and spat her off, the bike fortunately did not land on her and the soft sloppy ground cushioned the fall so only a few bruises.
I immediately started running to help and have pinched a nerve in my back and have a bad dose of pain in my right leg, so I can hardly walk after Marg comes off. Mind she is also very stiff and sore but nothing that wont come good in a few days and has some whopping big bruises.
All in all it has been a shit of a day but we are both OK but unable to get to Eden. Please accept my apologies but circumstance beyond our control.
I know Gaz, Tom and Ulli are coming through this way tomorrow but there is no need to come up to Mudgee for us just go and enjoy we are OK and are making arrangements to get everything done that needs to be done.

Gaz I am sending a PM it should be there soon.
