need a little help, when driving around 50, 60 mph and release my grip on the handle bars the bike begins to slow because I also release my grip on the throttle the front end begins to shake and gets worse down to around 40 mph. When I lightly regain grip the wobble becomes controlable and disappears with a firm grip. At higher speeds I do not notice any more than what I would consider machine vibration, appears normal.
I pulled the front wheel because the tire is wearing on the left side more than the right and removed 2 oz. of weight and tried spinning the wheel to see if it was badly out of balance. Ended taking wheel to local shop to have spin balance performed, shop added back 1.5 oz. of weight in the same place I removed the 2 oz. of weight. wheel bearings worked very smoothly.  Steering head bearings have no play and work very smoothly, maybe too smoothly when the bars are tipped ever so gently past straight the bars go over very quickly. the steering stem nut is tight. I do not have a wrench large enough to try and tension the nut..

If the tyre is worn unevenly then replace it. Usually (90% of the time) it solves the problem.
Uneven tyre wear is caused by over or under inflation more often under inflation. You could fit a steering damper but if you don't want to replace the tyre now just hold on to the bars.

Out of interest -are you running Bridgestone Battlax BT45 tyres on your machine ? If so then the tyre pressures are critical to stop uneven tyre wear.  The BT45 is a "dual compound" tyre (the middle is harder than the edges) and the tyres can very easily "scallop" or become uneven each side of the middle of the tyre.  If you can actually feel this on your tyre then I suggest that you replace the tyre and keep a careful check on tyre pressures in future if you continue with the same brand.  Personally I really like these tyres now that I know that pressures are critical.  Hope this might help you

Metzler lasertec 36psi front Michelin Pilot Activ 38psi rear.

Weight distribution is a major contributing factor to head shake.  How is the bike loaded when it shakes?  

Check the steering head bearings for play and adjust or replace (solved my shake at 100mph).  Check/change fork oil to proper amount and check the front tire for balance, cupping or uneven wear.

My thoughts are exactly the same. A few psi out and they are a different tyre. With the right pressure then very good.

Also verify that the forks are absolutely true in relation to one another. A mm here or there makes a huge difference.
