As the title says, did it fit/work?

I don't know what the maximum size for the rims is. Want to try out some radials, but those are not easily found for our bikes it seems.

A 150 tyre is a bit too wide for a 2.75 in rim.  Smithy just put a set of radials on his RS so should be able to tell you for sure, I think it was an Avon azaro on the rear and a Bridgestone on the front.

Pick up a later model 3-spoke rear wheel. It's 3" and they're fairly plentiful and cheap (3-spoke fronts, not so much). 
You'll have mismatched wheels but it doesn't look bad, especially when you're riding.

Hey Rene the smallest rim size for that tyre would be 3.50 .
I have Avon Azaro 140/80 rear and Bridgestone 023 110/80 front on the standard Y spokes, and they work well.

The 3 spoke wheel from a K1100 will sit 14mm to the left because they should be used with a paralever rear drive and the 3 spoke K75 wheel is I believe still a 2.75 inch.

Good info, thanks guys. Yes, was afraid of that (Thought I read it before somewhere, but then I read the other day of someone fitting a 150/70 on an old rim...). Wouldn't mind fitting the newer rims, but will have to find some at a reasonable price (I'm a Dutch guy having lived in Scotland, say no more ).

I had seen the info on the B023, but don't think they are for sale anymore (here?), but the front is easier I think than the rear.

TWB, Charlie and JR here have been using the 18 x4.5 rear wheel from the K1100RS and although it does sit 14mm of to the left they all say that it works quite well, but to use that you will need to mod the centre stand so it clears the tyre.
It goes against the grain for me but they all say it works.
I have the K1100RS rims on my K1100LT and the extra rubber is magic.
If you are going to do the wheel go the whole hog and put 305mm K1100 discs on the front with the forks and all and a paralever on the rear and you get a whole different bike.

Hi, in spite of what the manuals says, I've been running a Dunlop D205 150/70 zr17 for the last 9400 Km on my 2.75" three spokes with no problems.
