Hello Good Folks,

I'm attempting to remove the front fender so I may change the front tire.  The service manual's instructions state to loosen bolts then carefully pull up on the fender.  I can see how the mounting tabs fit around a metal collar.

My Questions:

- How delicate are the tabs/how much effort to remove from the metal collars?
- Can i remove tire without removing fenders?

I'm going to try the latter because I don't want to break the beautiful front fender before my ride to Yosemite this weekend.  Smile

Thanks in advance...take care all.

Tony

I'd like to add a question. Is that new style front fender in two pieces and if it is, would it be enough to remove just the front one to get the tyre off?

Thanks Tenox.  I jumped the gun on posting this thread because after looking again it's clear I can remove the tire without having to remove the fender(s).

Looks like I have to heat up the bolts attaching the calipers to the front forks.  They won't budge and I don't want to strip them.  Tire change will have to wait until tomorrow night.  Smile

I guess in this case my experience working on mid '50's cars got the best of me.  I was leery of threading the bolts.  I sprayed them with wd-40 and about 20 minutes later was able to break them loose using a "breaker" bar.  Smile
