My K100RS has both the small temperature and fuel gauges, and when I turn on the parking light (or sidelight, whatever you want to call it) both the needles in the gauges jump clockwise half a notch, leaving me with more fuel and a higher temperature than if I leave the lights off. Does anyone else see this? Is it normal? I was wondering today why my temperature was so high, reaching half a notch from the red, but upon turning the lights off it went back to being in the middle!

Just wondered if this is weird or not.. Nothing else seems to affect them, only the parking light. Does that bring on the lights inside the gauges too?

Check the ground connection, the connector you find under the tank, RHS, white housing.
Yes, it is lights in the gauges too.

I'll have a look next time I'm in there, don't fancy tearing it to bits that far just for a couple of gauges though!

Do you know if they share a common ground?

Yes, it's one single wire for both instruments and both bulbs.

When you turn on the light and have a bad connection to ground, the current searches ground where it's the lowest resistance....through the instruments and sensors.
