K-rider - that's a really neat idea, I might just use that on my bike. I make a habit of always having a small torch (flashlight) in my pocket, but I like this option.
Please add some detail on how you hooked it up.

Is this going to be like the refrigerator light problem -- when you close the seat, does the light go out?  You'll have to keep opening the seat to make sure.  Very Happy

Good job.

good idea, like it, (but my ABS computer is there, so no space for a lock)

But in the glove compartments in the fairing. Maybe with a REED-relay, and a small magnet glued to the lid/cover.

paul , i grounded it to the right seathinge bolt, the power lead is hooked up with the grey/white wire at fuse #2.,
this means that the light is on whenever the parking light is on ,but i figure that since it dosnt use more than a couple of watts , it dont matter, and its hardly visible when the seat is closed-
i planned to use the connector for extra equipment in  the relay box, but it turned out the pin for parking light wasnt there.  Shocked

Do what I did when I was worried that the fridge light wasn't going out when I closed the door; I drilled a hole through it.
