Just a few pics of the project bikes progress
This bike was built from many bikes, with parts that I’ve had, and purchased from fellow forum members, and sourced cheap on ebay.
Sorry no build thread, just a show and tell! This is no show bike , just an everyday knock around that my wife and I can ride.
Started as an incomplete basket case rt that i acquired for free.
Engine of unknown condition from saxon7 ( now guest ) frame and upper sump housing with the engine numbers to match the frame and many other parts from Rockman, Fuel tank from Gladstone old fart PJ, low seat from Gaz80 and many parts from Rick G. Many thanks for the good quality parts at the right price.
As it turned out the engine I got from saxon7 was in great shape, after a bit of a strip down and check of the output shaft rivets and C clip all was in great condition, then a good go over and valve check, (no adjustments needed) engine was reassembled with all new seals, new clutch and pressure plate, I had a gearbox here that I fitted new bearings and seals too and installed . Then I picked the best throttle bodies I had and fitted 4 hole injectors.
So from collecting the parts needed, to a bike on wheels has taken about 12 months, the actual assembly of the bike has only taken about 3 months, a few hours and beers every evening ( excellent therapy for the treatment of K pox ).
Bike still needs a few things doing, but for now I’ll put some miles on it before striping down for a paint job, decisions on what colour will be next.
