I guess it's not just for the New South Welshmen or Sydneysiders, many places around the world use similar technology I suppose for toll roads.
My K100 is my commuter and I fork out daily dollars via an electronic tag. I've been borrowing my car one tucked inside my jacket pocket, but it's unreliable as far as actually registering when passing the reader. Either a wet jacket or just forgetting to change it back to the car sees another toll paid with Admin fees via the interweb.I gotta get one for the K and mount it permanently.
Where do you mount yours? I'm a bit hesitant to go inside the windshield, as it makes a little too easy to "borrow".

Jez.

Up ear you just add the bike rego to your e-go online profile. They photo match your plates for free.

firstly ..you would probably want the tag to sit more horizontally than vertically  up here they read the tag from above so having it horizontal will give it more field to respond to ...
under the seat ? on the tool shelf ?

This is very ambiguous.

I get charged a fee on the M2 on my bike if I dont have a tag that gets registered, but this says I shouldn't if the bike is listed as a class 1 vehicle.
Maybe I did not select that option.

If that is the case tehn you do not need a tag on the bike.

Will check this when I get home.

G'day Jez , basically X2 on RobinW's comment , down here in Melbourne we have all the household vehicles on the one account , the three cars have an e-tag each mounted on the inside of the windscreen as per usual , my bike is added as a tagless vehicle , as the gantries photograph from the front and rear now the search is free & I believe bikes are charged at half toll rates

Same here, we've got all our vehicles on the one tag.  Plate matching for the bikes is free as long as the numbers are registered against the account.

The tag stays in our main car 99% of the time.

what about mounting to the top of your lid? scans easy and it remains safe with you at all times.

Ha,
yep I thought about lid mounted, but I'm also working at the moment on quietening said lid. I reckon I could set up a good whistle at 100kph. Work in sound, so need fresh ears when I arrive at work.
I'll check with RMS (my tag account provider) and see if they don't offer that photo link to the tag.

Thanks all for the suggestions.

Jez.

Possible problems with this in the interpretation of modifying a helmet.
Might make the helmet illegal if you stick something to it.
My advice is put it in your pocket and pull it out when you pass the toll gates till you find out about class 1 exemptions

My e-tag is attached to the tin top and the bikes are linked.  Apparently it is linked to the e-tags used by our southern brothers, so it is safe to travel in Mexico  Where's your e-tag go? 447221 . Just have to watch that damned fixed speed camera on the hill down into Tenterfield.    Where's your e-tag go? 178468

Costs me $4.17 in the cage to cross Brisbane's Gateway bridge and half that for the mo'bike.   Very Happy

There is a local woman (no names) that was caught 4 times in a week in that camera. See what inbreeding does.
