Hey all. I just wanted to share some imformation on my latest mod. I have standard forks and standard bars fitted to my k100rs 16v. I put the word out that I was looking for a set of bars of an rt. I was skeptical that it would make much of a difference. I had been riding around with the double hrd on for almost a year. 
I found a set from a forum member in America. I fitted them and have been blown away at the difference. I would not have believed it would have lightened the effort as much as it had or given me so muchore control. My heads up in the slip stream a bit more but the bike is more comfortable. I lovey chair and was despairing that the only real choice is leading links. They are still on the wish list but  the outfit is a serious option again just with the wider bars. Thanks again mike.

AL 58 was saying a while ago that if you swap the forks side for side it moves the axle further forward which makes the trail less and makes the steering lighter. It was with relation to the RT forks and the  smaller discs and twin pot calipers but it may be worth investigating with the 4 pot gear.

I don't think it's just the wider bars.  I'm running the wider 1100RS bars but they are mounted on 2" barbacks.  With that set up I'm more behind the bars instead of leaning down on them, so it gives more leverage/makes my steering input more effective.  The link does make a difference too obviously.  Myself I wont run RT/LT bars, I think they look horrible on an RS (but that's just me)

Reversing the forks works a bit to lighten the steering because it reduces the trail a bit.  To be honest I only did it because it was free and worth a try, but nothing like the 50mm or so reduction typical on a leading link.

A leading link isnt the only way to reduce trail, just the most common on tele-fork bikes.  Anything that moves the axle forward reduces trail, other methods are modified triple clamps or mods to move the axle forward, both often custom made/not off the shelf items.

it's been strongly reported about the benefits of a leading link when using  an outfit. takes the strain of the front end when steering . 
Not sure if Sean still has a set for sale , he offered it to the forum then placed it on Ebay . reasonable price too.
