Hey!
I'm Mårten Leikarnes from the westcoast of Norway, with my dad we build and rebuild bikes from time to time. K100/K1100 at the moment with sidecar.

My dad bought his first K100 in 1990, 1984 mod. which he built a sidebike sidecar to in 1992, when I was to be born in 1993. I've grown up in this sidecar with more than 100.000km in it. He then sold it and bought a Kawasaki ZZR1100 wich he built a strengthened copy of a sidebike onto. both theese with traditional sidecar fork. He then sold the Kawasaki and bought a new Suzuki SV1000S in 2003, this one is the first I was a part of building. Having seen a bike with single sided front suspension my dad wanted to build a sidecar with one of theese. The whole sidecar is built in aluminum, built during the winter 2004/2005.

We took the sidecar off the SV1000S and sold the bike as a solo bike. We bought an 1984 K100RS from northern Norway, it had been in an unfortenate meeting with a moose.
Here it's all stripped down and building of the single sided front suspension frame started:

Then bought a K1100LT policebike from Denmark and changed engine and painted the K100:

All done:

Custom exhaust right under the engine:

We sold this one this summer and we're now building a new one!
One of our ideas was to build a K100GS, we got a spare DR750 front fork and rims...

But this is now a bit on the shelf until we get one more frame...
It's going to be a new K100 with K1100 engine and single sided front suspension and sidecar!

It's going to be a single exhaustpipe under the saddle, thats why the frame is changed at the back end.

The sidecars we use for winterriding, going to Krystall Rally and all that!
I also have some japaneese and an englishman in the stable... I usually ride the Suzuki DR750 Big.

Takker!
It's living a new life in Hamar now!
We're building a new one now, probably the only K1100 with center exhaust under the saddle.

Sounds nice! I too am looking to get custom headers on mine.
When you say "under the saddle", will it run below the plastics and out the tail?
Be aware that the seat might get "jævelig" hot :p

It's going to be a solo seat, and no seat at the back where the exhaust is. And all that original BMW plastic is gone in a campfire some years ago (all broken) and it weighs alot! going to make a new tail with exhaust coming out of it.
Here's my build thread:

And there is some in my mcsiden buildthread and blog to.
