Just to introduce myself

My name is Kobus (28) from south Africa

busy restoring/fixing a BMW K100 1983

have a big enthusiasm for any motorcycle , been riding since 16

Hi from SA 20130814I have 2 oil leaks  - the last pic shows the timing cover, which is cracked, and also on the gasket between the block and sump.... Sad

Hi Kobus welcome to the forum, good to see the old models still providing enjoyment.

That timing cover doesn't look too bad, Devcon is a good product, (expensive though) metal epoxy sort of stuff

similar to what's on there already by the looks? Is that repair not keeping oil in?

If I was home or in SA I could weld it for you. any competent tradie would do it fairly cheaply,

But make sure they heat the whole part first! Easiest of all would be to get a s/hand one,

probably someone here has one?

hi , sorry I started to get out of hand here on the new member forum
 
I have created a new topic

its not keeping oil in but it is also leaking between the block and sump just above the engine number,
 
 
 
any way I will continuo to post on the other topic I started and wil leave this as my introduction page....
